My Top 5 Things to Do in NOLA!
A couple weeks ago I went to New Orleans for my sister’s bachelorette party and we had a blast! This was her first time in NOLA, so it was nice to get out to celebrate her big day. When she mentioned going to NOLA for her bachelorette weekend, I knew it would be the perfect city. You can’t beat good food, live music, rich culture, and fun bars!
If you’re thinking about visiting New Orleans below are my top 5 things I recommend to do while you’re there!
1. Bourbon Street
I’m sure you’ve all heard of bourbon street, it can be overwhelming but I recommend experiencing it at least once. There’s tons of bars, restaurants, and pizza spots. This street doesn’t shut down until the crack of dawn! When I went back in 2017 we didn’t get home until after 5am, no lie. I’ve had great memories on this street lol. Although, I may have to retire from it in the next couple of years’!
2. Frenchman’s Street
Looking for a more relaxed scene? A spot with live music? Check out Frenchman’s Street for restaurants with live music, good food, and a great atmosphere. You can definitely still get cute and dress up, but can expect a less crowded area than Bourbon Street.
3. Magazine Street
Looking for a place with cute brunch spots, bright buildings, local shops, and great photo ops? Check out Magazine Street. When I went here last year I tried Crawfish Etouffee and it was amazinggg.
4. The French Quarter
You can’t leave NOLA without going to the French Quarter. There’s a boardwalk and tons of historical sites, such as Jackson Square. In front of Jackson Square there are typically performances from local artists. Can’t beat free entertainment! lol. Also, the famous Cafe Du’ Monde is in the French Quarter. This is a tourist spot with famous beignets and coffee. I’m not even a big sweets person, but their beignets are on point!
5. Swamp Tour
We did the Jean Laffitte Swamp Tour, and purchased our tickets on GroupOn for $16! Our tour was 90 minutes and was worth the money. The tour lead was humorous and made the trip fun. This was my first time doing an alligator tour and I can say it was a nice experience! Don’t worry the boats are safe and the alligators were chilling doing their own thing lol. I say be adventurous and go for it!
If you have any questions about New Orleans and my most recent trip feel free to let me know! Have any of you been to NOLA before?
