Passion Twists 101

Happy spring ladies! Sorry fellas, yes this is another post for the ladies. Unless you’re interested in passion twists? lol. Let me just start by saying that I’m so glad the cold weather is GONE. The warm weather always puts me in a good mood and makes me want to try new hairstyles!

My Top 5 Things to Do in NOLA!

A couple weeks ago I went to New Orleans for my sister’s bachelorette party and we had a blast! This was her first time in NOLA, so it was nice to get out to celebrate her big day. When she mentioned going to NOLA for her bachelorette weekend, I knew it would be the perfect city. You can’t beat good food, live music, rich culture, and fun bars!

Places to Visit: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Hey guys! It’s been a while. Life has been a roller coaster ride lately (I’ll tell more about this at a later date lol). But I wanted to share one of the highlights of my summer, which was my trip to the Dominican Republic.

If you’ve thought about traveling there - this post will give you an inside scoop on what to expect!

Box Braids 101

Hey loves! I got box braids last month and I love them. One of my goals for 2018 is to do one protective style per quarter - to help my hair retain length. The everyday manipulation of our strands can cause tension and stress that lead to breakage, thankfully protective styles allow for minimum maintenance. They are also perfect for the summer weather!

How to Tell If You're Spreading Yourself Too Thin?

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Lately I've been working on something that I've had a hard time with for yearsssss....and that is telling myself no. I've always been strong -willed even at a young age. I started working at the age of 15, because I needed the independence to buy and do the things that I wanted!

Places to Visit: Charleston, SC

A couple weekends ago I went to visit Charleston, South Carolina for the first time and I had so much fun! If you have yet to visit I would definitely add Charleston to your list of places to see. Exploring new places is one of my favorite things to do, and now that I live down south I try to take advantage of experiences that I wouldn’t necessarily have access to in the DMV.

So what does Charleston have to offer?

Becoming a Woman Warrior: Diary of Dahomey Play Review

Hey guys, hope all is well! I was recently invited to attend the “Diary of Dahomey” play by Lady Harris, and it was really inspiring. The play took place last Saturday at the Little Rock Cultural Center in Charlotte. It was based on the diary of TITI, who’s in the Dahomey Tribe in West Africa. TITI journeys through feeling worthless to her husband, as he tells her she isn’t a good wife because she can't cook, or bear his children. He leaves her. What will she do next?
